Quidi Vidi Lake is a popular walking route. Being so close to the city you will find lots of runners and walkers using the boardwalk. The route takes around 45mins at walking pace. Amenities on the route include an Outdoor Gym, A dog walking park, Washrooms, and at the far end you can easily walk over to Dominion Supermarket (about 200m away) which has a Cafe on site should you require some refreshments! Quidi Vidi lake is used for boat races so during the summer months its a busy spot for boaters practicing ready for the St Johns Regatta.
As Part of the Grand Concourse, you can continue on path taking the Renee’s Mill Trail, accessed by the bridge near dominion at the fair end of the lake.
You will find this walk has plenty of facilities with washrooms on both sides of the trail, If you are taking children on this consider packing some duck food, as you will find many many hungry mouths who will appreciate a feed!
You can often see eagles (a bald eagle pair nest most years very close to the lake) fishing, especially morning and evening. We have also seen otters playing on the lake where the river enters the lake by the supermarket and soccer field complex.
